MOORING LINES FAILURE PREVENTION IS ONE OF THE KEY DESIGN OBJECTIVES OF FLOATING BREAKWATER SYSTEMS. THESE OFFSHORE STRUCTURES ARE EXPOSED TO HIGHLY CYCLIC NONLINEAR LOAD FLUCTUATIONS INDUCED BY IRREGULAR WAVE CLIMATE ACROSS THEIR SERVICE LIFE. FATIGUE OF MOORING LINES NEEDS TO BE MONITORED AND EVALUATED TO WARRANT THE STATION KEEPING AND, THE INTEGRITY OF OVERALL SYSTEM. THE APPLICATION OF CONTROL DEVICES TO FLOATING BREAKWATER PROVIDES MITIGATION OF STRUCTURAL RESPONSE AND HENCE, MOBILIZES TENSION AT MOORING SYSTEM. TO EVALUATE THE EFFECT OF CONTROL DEVICES ON FATIGUE BEHAVIOR OF MOORING LINES, THE FLOATING BREAKWATER SIMULATED WITH AN ATTACHED TUNED LIQUID COLUMN DAMPER (TLCD). TO PERFORM THE FATIGUE EVALUATION OF MOORING LINES, THE TIME DEPENDENT APPROACH BASED ON S-N CURVES IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE PALMGREN-MINER RULE WERE EMPLOYED. IN THIS PAPER, FURTHER PARAMETRIC STUDY COMPLETED AND REPORTED TO INVESTIGATE THE EFFECT OF TLCD ON MOBILIZED TENSION, DAMAGE RATE AND FATIGUE LIFE OF MOORING LINES. THE RESULTS SHOWED THAT APPLICATION OF TLCD ENHANCES THE FATIGUE LIFE OF MOORING LINE AND THUS, THE LIKELIHOOD OF THE MOORING SYSTEM TO DAMAGE DUE TO FATIGUE IS DECREASED DRAMATICALLY. THIS WOULD EVENTUATE THE MAINTENANCE COSTS REDUCTION, AND WOULD INCREASE THE LIFETIME AND OPERATIONAL SAFETY OF THE FLOATING BREAKWATER.
