BUCKLING ANALYSIS OF LAMINATED ANISOTROPIC KIRCHHOFF'S PLATES VIA THE BOUNDARY ELEMENT METHOD
Abstract
A FUNDAMENTAL SOLUTION FOR LAMINATED ANISOTROPIC KIRCHHOFF’S PLATES WITH OUT-OF-PLANE AND IN-PLANE COMPRESSIVE LOADS ACTING ON IT IS DERIVED HERE. SOME KERNELS OF THE INTEGRAL EQUATIONS ARE DESCRIBED. NUMERICAL RESULTS OF THE HERE IMPLEMENTED MATLAB© PROGRAM HAVE BEEN COMPARED WITH AVAILABLE ANALYTICAL SOLUTIONS FOR ORTHOTROPIC MEDIA AND WITH RESULTS PRESENTED IN THE LITERATURE. THE BEM RESULTS OF DISPLACEMENTS AND CRITICAL BUCKLING LOADS OF SEVERAL PLATES WITH DIFFERENT BOUNDARY CONDITIONS AND GEOMETRIES ARE PRESENTED. COMPARISONS WITH AVAILABLE ANALYTICAL SOLUTION AND SOME PUBLISHED NUMERICAL SOLUTIONS CONFIRM THE RELIABILITY AND ACCURACY OF THE PROPOSED FORMULATION.
