IT IS A GREAT PLEASURE TO ANNOUNCE THE NEW LAYOUT OF THE LATIN AMERICAN JOURNAL OF SOLIDS
AND STRUCTURES, LAJSS. THIS WAS SPECIALLY DESIGNED SO TO MAKE THE TEXT MORE PLEASANT AND
CLEAR, WHILE KEEPING THE NECESSARY TECHNICAL PRECISION OF THE CONTENTS.
LAJSS HAS ALSO GAINED A NEW GRAPHICAL IDENTITY, REFLECTED IN THE COLORS AND STYLE OF THE
COVER.
THE ELECTRONIC SITE OF LAJSS IS ALSO COMPLETELY NEW. WE ADOPTED THE OPEN JOURNAL SYSTEMS,
AN OPEN SOURCE JOURNAL MANAGEMENT AND PUBLISHING SOFTWARE DEVELOPED, SUPPORTED, AND FREELY
DISTRIBUTED BY THE PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE PROJECT UNDER THE GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE. THIS
SOFTWARE ALLOWS AN EFFICIENT MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION SYSTEM FOR THE AUTHORS, A QUICKER RESPONSE
OF THE EDITOR AND REVIEWERS AND A SIMPLE ACCESS TO THE JOURNAL CONTENTS BY THE READER.
I HOPE THESE CHANGES PLEASE THE USERS OF THIS EVER GROWING JOURNAL.
