IN THIS STUDY, A CONCEPT OF COLLOCATION METHOD (CM), LEAST SQUARE METHOD(LSM) AND HOMOTPY ANALYSIS METHOD (HAM) ARE INTRODUCED AND THEN USED TO OBTAIN A SIMPLE AND ACCURATE SOLUTION FOR PREDICTING THE TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION IN A POROUS FIN. HEAT GENERATION, CONVECTION AND RADIATION ARE CONSIDERED AND HEAT TRANSFER THROUGH POROUS MEDIA IS SIMULATED USING PASSAGE VELOCITY FROM THE DARCY'S MODEL. FOURTH ORDER RUNGE-KUTTA METHOD (NUM) IS APPLIED FOR PREDICTING THE TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION IN THE POROUS FINS. THE OBTAINED RESULT FROM CM AND HAM IS COMPARED WITH A NUMERICAL METHOD FOR VALIDATION. THE PRESENT RESULTS ARE EASILY SHOWS THAT DESPITE ITS SIMPLICITY, CM AND HAM OFFERS SUPERIOR ACCURACY COMPARED WITH BVP.Downloads
