THE PROTECTIVE CAPABILITY OF THE KEVLAR FIBRE-REINFORCED RUBBER COMPOSITE ARMOUR (KFRRCA) AT DIFFERENT OBLIQUITIES IS STUDIED USING DEPTH-OF-PENETRATION EXPERIMENTS AGAINST A 56 MM-DIAMETER STANDARD-SHAPED CHARGE. EFFICIENCY FACTORS ARE USED TO EVALUATE THE PROTECTION CAPABILITY OF THE KFRRCA AT DIFFERENT OBLIQUITIES. MEANWHILE, AN X-RAY EXPERIMENT IS USED TO OBSERVE THE DEFORMATION, FRACTURE, AND SCATTER OF THE SHAPED-CHARGE JET AS IT PENETRATES THE COMPOSITE ARMOUR. FINALLY, SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPY (SEM) IS USED TO ANALYSE THE EFFECT OF THE KEVLAR FIBRE-REINFORCED RUBBER FOR THE COMPOSITE ARMOUR TO RESIST JET PENETRATION. THE RESULTS INDICATE THAT THE KFRRCA CAN DISTURB THE JET WHEN THE ARMOUR IS AT 30°AND 68° OBLIQUITIES, AND THAT THE COMPOSITE CAN BE USED AS ADDITIONAL ARMOUR.Downloads
